The wonderful Professionals at Music Orlando will be giving free Guitar and Piano lessons. This will be a 20 minute introduction to the instruments in a one on one setting with a professional instructor to answer all of your questions! They will have their own room specifically for these events throughout the day.

Garrow Custom Guitars will be offering classes /seminars on a variety of subjects. Including: 1. Guitar Care 2. Signs you Guitar needs setting up 3. Tips for getting the most out of your Guitar including basic maintenance 4. Tube Amps and Gear 5. and Guitar Mods and Upgrades. He will also be offering his services, such as setups and restrings, as well as evaluations for your own personal guitars. Tap into Dean's vast knowledge here at Rockitcon ! And check out some of his latest creations! Their band, Knickers Down, will also being playing live on stage.

The Audio Playground Studios experts will be giving classes on using and recording with MIDIs. Get tips and information on how to get music recorded professionally, and how to enhance your own recordings at home.

Master Amplifier Builder Adam Palow of Tungsten Amplification will be holding classes on everything about Tube Amps! Maintaining, trouble shooting, common problems and Modifications! Tweak that old tube amp you have back into shape and get that great tone you've always loved ! He will also have his custom amps on hand to see, so you don't want to miss this !

Woody Woodcasters will be at Rockitcon to show off their great Guitars and Basses. Made from exotic woods and handcrafted, be sure and drop by his booth to check out some of his latest custom products fresh out of the woodshed. He will also be performing with his band, Woody & The Woodtones.

Arizias Basses will be presenting a bass guitar seminar.

Chrystal Hartigan Presents... "Songwriters Showcase" will be bringing you some of the best Songwriters in the business for performances throughout the weekend Live on the Paradise Stage! Chrystal Co-founded "Songwriters in the round", with songwriter / Producer Desmond Child, in 1996-2001. She now presents a "Songwriters Showcase" every 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, showcasing local, national & international songwriters.

"Chrystal Hartigan presents... "Open Mic" on the Paradise stage before "Songwriters Showcase"

1) Open Mic starts at 7PM until approx 8:30PM on Friday 6/25, & 6PM until approx 8PM Saturday 6/26
SIGN UP starts at 6PM on Friday, 10AM on Saturday.

2) You must sign up in person (no one else can sign you in).

3) There are a limited number of performance spaces & these are given on a first come, first serve basis upon sign up.

4) We will allow as many performances as time permits.

5) You are allotted to perform ONE LIVE ORIGINAL Song (No Recorded Music permitted).

6) There are no sound checks for the Open Mic portion of the evening

7) Be ready to play. You will be informed of the order you will perform. Have yourself & any instruments tuned & ready to play by the side stage.

NOTE*
After you perform, stick around and support your fellow songwriter's in the remainder of the Open Mic portion of the evening, at 9PM the stage will then be set with the Featured Songwriter's performing "in the round" style, you don't want to miss this!

Maliposa Music will be having a class / seminar on building acoustic guitars. Learn about how they are custom made, everything from the wood chosen to the doing the inlays on the neck, from the ground up.

Bobby G. Summers will be having a seminar on keyboards.

A music veteran, Bobby G. Summers has been a creative force in the music industry for several years and has decided to bring his talent to the forefront. Summers has a history of writing, producing and performing with the top names in the industry.

A co-founder of the 80's hit group, "The Deele", along with Antonio "LA" Reid and later including Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Summers advanced writing style and powerful performances attributed to the bands prominent panache, which helped place them in the fore front.

Bobby's departure from the band was untimely but not regretted when he wrote, performed and produced with the Motown Recording Artist, "General Kane". Summers collaborated on such tunes as "Crack Killed Applejack" and "Can't Let Go".

Following these attributes, Bobby G, joined the "Bar-Kays", creating the unforgettable anthem "The Slide".

His work on the 1994 "48 hrs" CD signaled what was ahead for him as a writer, producer, arranger and performer. He co-wrote 5 of the songs and toured with the band for several years.

Between working with the Bar-Kays and engineering in the studio with various artists and producers including, the great Will "Pops" Mitchell and award winning engineer William Brown (Stax Records). Summers was asked to perform and direct the Enterprise Orchestra, a band otherwise headed by the Rev. Al Green himself. Bobby assumed the role and toured with the Reverend and the band for over 15 years.

In 2006 Summers toured with The Family Stone domestically and overseas, filling in for Sly himself. Summers in 2008 independently released his first CD titled "Labor of Love" which had regional success, Bobby is now heading his own Band touring and performing in the USA.
